My second entry for =HorseRidingGal (yay!) and I'm actually pretty proud of it
The rules were to draw one of her characters with mine and my previous attempt was my Cora and her Torius. And this time I saw that (criminally) no one had done this here gorgeous Judoon yet!! shock horror!

So I quickly set a piece of art in my mind

Judoon was taken away from his home planet as a foal and forced to fight other creatures in order to stay alive as entertainment for his creul captors (tell me if that's wrong Crys)
Sort of like a gladiator...
And....who out of my characters is based on Roman gladiators himself? Gladius! (no his name doesn't mean gladiator, it means sword)

So...story time
(this is gonna be long I can tell...)


'Lucius Gladius Aurilius, or so he was named by his noble owner when he was born, had been taken as a yearling to this hell. Taken from his dam and proud sire, from his home where he was loved.
And thrown here.
Gladius half stumbled, half fell through the gate after another bloody victory. He hated every moment in that arena, he was cheered and praised for killing another animal. This time it had been a young wolf, still a cub even, no match for him. But there was no mercy for the weak.
All of a sudden he felt something hit his skull and his soft blue eyes rolled to the back of his head. All was darkness.

When Gladius woke his vision was blurred and the enviroment bleak. The strong reak of fresh blood, rotting flesh and metal filled his nostrils which made him cringe.
He struggled to his feet, shaking all over and found that he stood on stone. As soon as his vision cleared he looked around. Gladius had been carelessly dumped in a grimy dirty cell, it was dark and the wall infront of him was made from thick iron bars.
The thin horse trudged to the front of the cell, his ears pinned to the back of his head and whinnied softly. There was no reply.
Suddenly three humanoid creatures burst through the cell and attatched chains to a metal collar that had been fitted whilst he'd been sedated, and Gladius was dragged out of the dungeon up to daylight.
His eyes burned from the sun and the heat was intense. Looking around he saw a clear dirt terrain. He was free!
Galloping forwards with sheer elation Gladius neighed holding his head high. But then crashed into something, falling sideways he tried again but there was an invisible barrier holding him back. Gladius was trapped in a glass dome.
A sharp crack of the whip on his skin made Gladius howl and turn his back on the barrier. Another creature was bing whipped towards him. It wasn't from any place he'd seen before. Black and equine shaped it struggled forwards, horns protruded from it's face and the hooves were split down the middle.
Then, blinded by panic, it lunged forward. Gladius met it in combat as he had done so many times before and hated every moment. The horns made contact with his side, barely missing his protruding ribs. He swung his head around and head butted the beasts shoulder. An old nasty scar ripped open and the creature screached with pain as warm blood scorched down it's back.
Soon they were both on their hind legs, Gladius's bracelet cut into the skin and Gladius saw a bare throat in front of him. This would be the deathly blow. Then a tear fled his eye and he realised.

No more.

No more death.

Gladius stepped back, warm crimson liquid spilling from his mouth and nose and fell to all fours whispering, "No more, I won't, not again"'
